Dr. Stanley Lee and collaborators were selected for the 2022 Mark Foundation Endeavor Award

Congratulations to Dr. Stanley Lee! Dr. Lee, Dr. Robert Welner (University of Alabama Birmingham), Dr. Rui Lu (University of Alabama Birmingham), and Dr. Brent Ferrell (Vanderbilt University Medical Center) have received the Mark Foundation Endeavor Award. This award aims to promote collaborative work by supporting innovative cancer research projects from multidisciplinary teams. Their project focuses on the inflammatory effects caused by mutant HSPCs and mature immune cells in the bone marrow that may contribute to clonal selection and progression from CHIP to MDS.

Dr. Stanley Lee receives the Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation Myelodysplastic Syndrome Research Grant

Congratulations to Dr. Stanley Lee! He has been selected as a recipient of the Vera and Joseph Dresner Foundation Grant. This grant will support work on the identification and validation of aberrant mRNA splicing in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) with intent to determine novel therapeutic targets. This will help expand the treatment options available to MDS patients.

The Lee lab receives the Safeway Early Career Award in Cancer Research

March 31st 2020

Dr. Stanley Lee received the Early Career Safeway Pilot Award in Cancer Research from the Fred Hutch/UW Cancer Consortium. This pilot grant aims to understand the fundamental processes of how RNA splicing is regulated during normal blood cell development and how, when it goes awry, can lead to leukemia. He aims to gain new understanding that will hopefully lead to improved treatments for leukemia patients. More news here.

Stanley Lee joins Fred Hutch

October 1st 2019

Dr. Stanley Lee officially joins the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center! His independent research program seeks to understand how somatic mutations in RNA splicing factors and chromatin regulators drive blood diseases and he hopes to develop novel therapies and cures for blood cancers. The Lee Lab is located on the 4th floor of the Thomas Building with a fantastic view of Lake Union and the Seattle Space Needle!
